Tour Itinerary

Day 1
– Port Elizabeth ,(transfers can be arranged from wherever you arrive in PE) to your backpackers, a township tour that departs at 4pm will give you an insight into local life in the “Friendly City” with dinner and drinks at a Shebeen (township bar) or we can arrange an optional half hour helicopter flight that will lift you into the sky to for a bird’s eye view of the bay and the beautiful beaches around Port Elizabeth , overnight in PE

Day 2
- The Addo Elephant Park tour leaves at about 9am for a full days game drive in the National Park and includes lunch and drinks.
Overnight in Port Elizabeth.

Day 3
– Leave Port Elizabeth early in the morning for Station Bacpackers at the old railway station in Port Alfred, here you can surf “Crunchie bar” a solid 6 foot barrel that heaves up on the insanely hollow sand bank just off the East Pier. This wave delivers some epic stand-up tubes in the right conditions.It peaks in the river mouth and grinds all the way past the East Pier, with a thick lip rolling over a top-to-bottom barrel. You could also go diving, here they are famous for ‘soft coral’ and numerous wrecks and “lunar landing” where there are crayfish in their hundreds. Overnight Port Alfred.

Day 4
– Another day in this seaside playground. First, check if ‘Crunchie bar’ is working. Either way, a morning surf will refresh the soul. You can try kite boarding or a kayak trip or water skiing, just let us know & we’ll organise it. Overnight Port Alfred.

Day 5
– Take the 2 hour bus ride to East London in the morning. East London has the most consistent surfing conditions in all of South Africa so your backpackers is situated on a surf beach and only minutes away from Nahoon Reef. There are waves for all surfers here and surf lessons are also available. Overnight East London.

Day 6
– Fly like a bird in a microlight 1000ft above the unspoilt Wild Coast, and swoop down to check out the dolphins and whales chilling in the Indian Ocean, then go for a surf and after that, we can try some sand boarding in the dunes . Overnight in East London

Day 7
- Mpongo park, only a 30 minute drive from the backpackers, we grab a quick lunch in Mpongo's lakeside restaurant overlooking the hippo's, who are usually also having lunch at that time. After lunch, we go for a 3 hour horseback ride through the game reserve where you will get within feet of giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and lions. Return back to East London to celebrate an epic trip.
